Diana O'Donnell
Project Manager
Diana started her career in environmental management as a Soil
Conservation Officer with the Department of Primary Industries
based on the Atherton Tablelands in the early 1980’s. She
then moved to Biloela where she contined to work in the areas
of conservation cropping and reduced tillage as well as soil
conservation layouts for erosion control.
While her children were growing up Diana spent several years
working in the horticultural industry doing irrigation scheduling
with the neutron probe. She was also involved in developing
irrigation, nutrition and pest management programs for tree crops.
She also worked with TAFE, teaching horticulture and land
management.
Diana worked as Landcare coordinator for the Burnett Mary
region, then returned to the north to work in the areas of
weeds and pest animals, and sustainable land management in banana
and cane. She spent two years with Terrain as their financial
and contracts manager.
More recently, Diana has worked on ‘water’ issues
as as part of the Reef Plan Extension Team with the
Department of Primary Industries based at South Johnstone working
mainly on drainage, riparian restoration and artificial wetland
construction.
Diana has been working with NQ Dry Tropics since 2007.
