Lesley McMahon

Corporate Communications Manager

Lesley is responsible for the ongoing management of the NQ Dry Tropics brand and all communications undertaken by the organisation to promote awareness of the brand and the benefits it delivers.

Lesley has over 15 years experience in the media and corporate communications. Her experience ranges from producing print and electronic media, to speech writing, script writing, websites, interactive CD/DVD’s and any printed or promotional material including newsletters and brochures.

She also specialises in producing and writing marketing plans and strategies, annual reports, media releases, as well as the direction of video presentations.

Lesley has worked for various organisations both internationally and in Australia. In Australia she has worked as a Commercial Producer for Southern Cross Ten broadcasting as well as having responsibility for Public Relations and Marketing at the Port of Townsville. She set up a home-based consultancy called McMahon Communications in 2008.

Internationally, she has worked in the communications team for the Irish telecoms provider, Eircom, as well as a journalist for Irish national radio stations and newspapers. She has also worked for the European Commission in Brussels in a communications role.

Lesley has an honours degree in Journalism, specialising in media management from Dublin City University and holds a Graduate Certificate of Business Administration (Marketing) from Central Queensland University.
