Dr Rachel Allan
Project Manager
Rachel joined the NQ Dry Tropics team in November
2006. She has been in her current role as Project Manager since
August 2007.
Rachel gained a PhD in zoology from the University of Melbourne
followed by employment as a post-doctoral fellow in New Zealand in
insect pest management.
With a background in academia and scientific research, Rachel
moved to industry experience with a Pearl Oyster farm near Broome
in Western Australia, followed by employment with a local
Townsville-based sea turtle conservation group.
She then gained three years experience in environmental
management in both Townsville local government prior to coming to a
more regionally focussed natural resource management
position with NQ Dry Tropics.
