NRM Operations Manager
Scott joined the NQ Dry Tropics team in January 2006. As NRM
Operations Manager, he is responsible for organisational investment
planning and delivery.
Scott holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Auckland,
New Zealand. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography
and Geology and a Master of Science (Qualifying) in Geography from
James Cook University.
After graduating from James Cook University in Townsville, Scott
moved to the Northern Territory where he worked on soil erosion
research for two years. He then moved to Brisbane where he worked
in a similar field for a further two years.
Deciding he wanted to focus on research, Scott moved to New
Zealand where he completed his PhD. He then began a long career in
land and water management, working in senior management roles in
both rural and urban settings. The skills and experience gained in
New Zealand provided a good foundation for his next role as NRM
