Great Barrier Reef

the quality of soil on

of land in the dry tropics region

We have removed barriers
to fish movement along
5,000 kilometres
of creeks and rivers

We have helped over
90 families in semi-urban areas
to protect native plants in their backyard

Caring for Country Plan

Traditional Owners of land and sea country in the region launched A Caring for Country Plan in 2005. The plan aims to empower Traditional Owners to make informed decisions and become involved in cultural heritage and land and water management.

A Caring for Country Plan is a landmark document that was developed with extensive consultation with Traditional Owner groups.

It was developed to compliment the regional natural resource management plan and ensure that Traditional Owner aspirations for land and water management are adequately represented.
