NQ Dry Tropics’ Engaging and Strengthening Communities project aims to build the capacity of the Burdekin Dry Tropics community to improve our environment. The grants program provides opportunities for community groups to access funding for their own projects, and we will work closely with groups to help them confidently carry out on ground environmental activities.
What’s the funding for?
This program funds activities that restore and rehabilitate our natural environment, whilst building the capacity of community groups to organise, coordinate and conduct natural resource management activities. Examples of projects we are looking for include: native tree planting, direct seeding, weed control, removing marine debris, rubbish cleanups, water quality monitoring, fencing, controlled burns, and creating fire breaks for fire sensitive vegetation.
