The Department of Communities has
grants of $200,000 per year available to support community groups
to facilitate regional youth engagement initiatives across
Queensland. Guidelines and/or dates have not been finalised for the
next round.
The grants are to support youth
forums that raise awareness of issues faced by young people and
youth-led projects to address the needs of young people raised in
these forums.
$200,000 state-wide is available
per year for Youth Engagement Grants. Funding will next be
available for the 2009/10 financial year.
Within the current model for Youth
Engagement Grants ( subject to change),Organisations in each region
successfully receiving funding will:
-
utilise $10,000 per annum to
facilitate youth forums that will engage a diversity of young
people and other youth stakeholders in their region; and
-
utilise the other $10,000 per
annum to action recommendations from these regional forums.
