Get help eliminating weeds and pests

NQ Dry Tropics understands that it's not easy to find the time and money to control weeds and
pests. Many of our projects are designed to work with small and large landholders to reduce weeds and pest animals. The following initiatives have funding and other support available.

Healthy Habitat

The Healthy Habitat project is aimed at preserving wildlife habitat in Alligator Creek south of Townsville, Black River north of Townsville and Oak Valley. It helps residents do property plans and identify environmental improvements like weed removal.

Bowling Green Bay

If your property is adjacent to or feeds into Cape Bowling Green Bay you may be eligible for funding under the Bowling Green Bay project. Funding is available to help land managers eradicate Weeds of National Significance like hymenachne, rubber vine, prickly acacia, water hyacinth and salvinia. Properties with feral pig problems are also encouraged to apply.
