Nature Assist
NatureAssist is for rural Queensland landholders to help manage their land, conditional upon them entering into a nature refuge agreement.

NatureAssist is a competitive market-based incentive scheme that gives landholders the opportunity to tender for financial assistance to carry out management actions.

Ergon Energy Envirofund

With total funds of $100,000, Envirofund is a program that provides funding for not-for-profit community groups and organisations to undertake projects with an energy conservation and environmental focus in their local community.

Grants will be provided in a range of amounts, from as little as $200 up to $20,000 or more.

The types of projects that are eligible are: reducing energy consumption, education, protection of wildlife, improve the health of local waterways, water conservation and much more.

Caring for our Country - Community Action Grants
Community groups can apply for grants from $5,000 to $20,000 to help protect and conserve Australia's environment.

Eligible community groups include: community groups involved in coastal rehabilitation, restoration and conservation; groups of farmers or land managers working on sustainable farming or improving natural resource management; Indigenous partnerships involved in protecting or improving the environment; and community groups involved in biodiversity conservation, environmental protection or managing natural resources.

FarmReady Industry Grants
FarmReady Industry Grants provide funding for groups to undertake projects that will help their members adapt to climate change.

Funding of up to $80,000 each financial year is available for projects.

You can apply for an industry grant if you are: a group of primary producers that forms specifically to undertake an eligible project; an established primary producer industry organisation/group at the local, regional and national level; or a natural resource management group at either a local, regional or national level.

Gambling Community Benefit Fund
The Gambling Community Benefit Fund invests in the community sector, supporting the capacity of community organisations and groups to provide services, leisure activities and opportunities for Queenslanders in their local communities.

Unincorporated Organisations can apply for up to $5,000. Incorporated organisations can apply for up to $30,000. Grants of more than $30,000 are considered for more complex projects that have significant community benefit.

Next Gen Farmers
Next Gen Farmers offers support for projects to improve the leadership and representative capacity of young people entering or involved in primary industries, particularly in the context of the challenges and opportunities in these industries as a result of a changing climate.

Grants of up to $50,000 are available.

Organisations involved in agriculture, fisheries and forestry at the local, regional or national level are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted from clusters of organisations joining together to hold an activity for young people living and working in rural, regional and remote Australia.

Small Grants for Small Rural Communities
A small grants program for small rural Australian communities will offer about $850,000 a year in grants to benefit people in rural and remote communities.

Applications that support the following areas of interest will be given preference: community development involving youth; resettlement of immigrants in rural Australia; community Infrastructure; and community hardship in drought-affected areas.

The Norm Wettenhall Foundation Grant
Support is given to projects that enhance or maintain the vitality and diversity of the Australian natural living environment.

The foundation aims: to build capacity in local communities to effect long-term beneficial change in the natural environment; to support and encourage research into, and monitoring of, all aspects of Australia's natural environment; and to support education relating to our natural environment.

Ian Potter Foundation - Environment and Conservation grants
Small grants of less than $20,000 are available for research and developmental projects which monitor or trial innovative solutions to environmental problems.

General applications can also be made for grants over $20,000.

The Ian Potter Foundation supports projects that propose finding ways for Australian communities to live sustainably and to preserve biodiversity. Water resources and climate change are the major focus areas.

Junior Landcare Small Grants Program
Any school or organisation that would like to involve their students in landcare projects, in conjunction with local landcare groups, can apply for grants to assist them with the cost of their projects.

The program targets major issues relevant to our natural environment including: water quality, waste reduction, school gardens, biodiversity and land.

Queensland Sustainable Energy Innovation Fund
This grant aims to assist Queensland-based organisations to develop innovative technologies that reduce consumption of fossil fuels, water or greenhouse gas emissions.

Two specific areas are energy and water savings (though some projects are intended to yield both energy and water savings).

The maximum grant is $200,000.

Volunteer Grants
Funding is provided through the Volunteer Grants program for eligible non-profit organisations to support their volunteers and encourage volunteering by: purchasing practical and tangible small equipment items to help volunteers; and/or contributing towards the reimbursement of volunteers’ fuel costs incurred when carrying out their volunteering work, including those who use their cars to transport others to activities, deliver food and assist people in need.

Organisations can apply for grant funding from a minimum of $1,000 up to a maximum of $5,000. More information available at: http://www.fahcsia.gov.au

Youth Engagement Grants
The Department of Communities has grants of $200,000 per year available to support community groups to facilitate regional youth engagement initiatives across Queensland.

The grants are to support youth forums that raise awareness of issues faced by young people and youth-led projects to address the needs of young people raised in these forums.

$200,000 state-wide is available per year for Youth Engagement Grants.

Coastcare Corporate Funding
Coastcare working groups can access $100,000 in grants for projects that prepare the coast for the impacts of climate change.

Dune stabilisation, human traffic control, biodiversity retreat corridors, community engagement and awareness, and monitoring and research activities are eligible for funding. Each project will receive up to $10,000.
