of sugar, fruit and vegetable farms

Protected
25 hectares
of coastal vegetation

Reduced the use of fertiliser on
20,000 hectares of farmland near the
Great Barrier Reef

Improved
the quality of soil on
15,000 hectares
of land in the dry tropics region

We have removed barriers
to fish movement along
5,000 kilometres
of creeks and rivers

We have helped over
90 families in semi-urban areas
to protect native plants in their backyard

We are the natural resource management body for north Queensland’s dry tropics. NQ Dry Tropics helps to look after our natural assets. Whether you're a farmer, grazier, school, community group or mum or dad we can help you to make a difference in your environment.

Did you know that NQ Dry Tropics is encouraging volunteerism in the community? Did you know that we're helping landholders improve the quality of water that runs off their properties and that we're working with Traditional Owners to record cultural information for future generations? We're also teaching kids what they can do to look after their environment and lots more.

In just 12 months, Queensland's regional natural resource management groups were responsible for the protection or enhancement of 148,000 hectares of vegetation. NQ Dry Tropics is one of those groups. There's a lot happening in our backyard.
