Burdekin Paddock to Reef Integrated Monitoring, Modeling and Reporting Program

Grazing_BMPThe Paddock to Reef Integrated Monitoring, Modelling and Reporting Program is a collaboration involving the Australian and Queensland Governments, industry, regional natural resource management bodies and research organisations and aims to measure and report on Reef Plan 2013 goals and targets.

The program is a world-leading example of an integrated monitoring, modelling and reporting program that links many on-ground practice changes by farmers to measurable improvements in water quality in the GBR.

The program involves monitoring and modelling a range of attributes at a range of scales including management practices, water quality at the paddock, sub-catchment, catchment levels and in adjacent marine areas.

Data for all Reef Plan aligned activities delivered through NQ Dry Tropics is captured and reported as per the Paddock to Reef protocol using water quality risk frameworks.
