Sugar water quality improvement grants

Large grants

Maximise your productivity and product quality. Funding is available for canegrowers for practice changes that will improve water quality through the reduction of nutrients, sediments and pesticides leaving farms. Small grants

Small Reef Rescue grants of up to $5,000 are available. Grants are to improve farm sustainability and will be received to buy one or more equipment items. To make it easier for you to access smaller grants, NQ Dry Tropics is paying grant money directly to your choice of participating supplier. This means you can go straight to the shop to pick up what you need once you get the go ahead. NQ Dry Tropics will fund 50% of the items below to the the value of $5,000 (inc GST). Items we can fund include:

  • Enviro-drum pump
  • Chemical storage and spill prevention equipment
  • Farm management software Irrigation scheduling and automation equipment
  • Green trash rake/separator
  • Low drift spray nozzles and/or multiple nozzle assemblies
  • Flow rate/variable rate controller for fertilisers or pesticides
  • Hand held wind meter
