Application deadline for Exceptional Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants extended
Primary producers affected by the North and Far North Tropical Low (29 Jan–28 Feb 2025) now have until 14 August 2026 to apply for Exceptional Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants of up to $75,000 through QRIDA.
The extension gives those impacted by multiple events extra time to complete clean-up and recovery. Grants can be claimed in stages (starting at $10,000) or as a single application for full reimbursement of eligible recovery costs.
Staged approach: Apply for an initial grant of up to $10,000 with evidence of direct damage (photos, invoices, quotes, receipts), then submit subsequent applications as recovery works progress to reach the maximum $75,000.
Single application approach: Submit one application for the total eligible costs, up to $75,000, with evidence of payment for those costs.
Activated Local Government Areas (LGAs) include Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers and seven others.
