Current Job Vacancy:

Cane Team Leader

NQ Dry Tropics is seeking a Cane Team Leader for a permanent full time position to be based in Townsville.

As a part of the Sustainable Agriculture team, this position will support the adoption of sustainable practices in the sugarcane industry within the Burdekin Dry Tropics region. The Cane Team Leader will support and facilitate: 

  • An improved understanding of links between land management practices and condition of natural resources; 
  • Adoption of best management practices; 
  • Fostering and supporting innovation for productivity and environmental outcomes; and
  • The design and delivery of extension and incentive support services for farmers.

The Cane Team Leader will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Burdekin Sugarcane Innovation Program and will lead the coordination and delivery of the sugarcane sub-program within the Sustainable Agriculture Program.
