Herding change project wraps up with soil workshop, reef trip

This two-day event wraps up the Herding Change project and includes a Christine Jones soil health workshop, tour of AIMS, and a day on the reefs around Orpheus and Pelorus islands.

DAY 1

  • Soil health workshop with Dr Christine Jones at Crossroads, Station, Giru.
  • Tour the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) Coral Core labs and the National Sea Simulator.
  • Dinner at The Quarterdeck, The Ville Resort (own cost – optional).

DAY 2

  • Spend the day on a private charter to the reefs around Orpheus and Pelorus islands.

Bus transfer provided to and from Crossroads Station and AIMS. All events fully catered except Quarterdeck Dinner (optional at your cost). Detailed itinerary provided to attendees closer to the event.

This project supported landholders to adopt grazing practices to improve end of dry season ground cover through a range of activities.

The Herding Change Through Grassroots Recovery project is funded by the partnership between the Australian Government’s Reef Trust and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
