For six years, the Landholders Driving Change (LDC) project has been delivering a wide-ranging approach to improve land and water quality at a catchment scale.

It’s a testament to the hard work and commitment of the BBB community and the project team alongside LDC’s collaborators and delivery partners.

We reckon it’s time to throw another shindig. Join us for a gourmet barbecue, a few drinks, and a whole heap of banter and laughs at the Workers Club in Collinsville on Wednesday, 15 May.

We’ll provide a brief update on how LDC is progressing, and then we’ll get on with the business of celebrating.

The Heart & Soul photography competition winning entries will be on display.

Children are welcome.

LDC has been a truly community-driven effort to deliver better water quality, and healthier, more productive landscapes. It has laid the foundations to support future investment:

  • Strong delivery framework (process, partnerships, capacity) established.
  • An effective co-governance model operating.
  • Sophisticated monitoring and evaluation framework.
  • Unprecedented levels of interest, engagement and participation by all land managers (grazing, Local Government, infrastructure and utility organisations).
  • A mix of activities that works and is delivering results.
  • Strong linkages with a raft of other initiatives.
  • An increasing sense of community responsibility for good land stewardship.

Workshops, featuring world-renowned experts, helped drive a sense of community responsibility for stewardship and land management. One of the most popular (below) was that conducted by Chihuahuan Desert rancher Alejandro Carrillo (above).
